Another great weekend of soccer at the La Jolla Labor Day Classic!!
After three days of challenges, the Breakers GU11 Black team ended up in the finals once again. Although they fell short by one point in the finals, I am extremely proud of the team. They played through multiple injuries and fought hard in each and every game. Well done ladies!! We end our preseason tournaments 3 for 4 in making the finals, coming away as the BeSoCha Champions. We still have work to do, as I said, “…even Lionel Messi still practices.” Nevertheless, the team is well prepared and I look forward to a successful league play.
I want to thank all the parents for their support on this Labor Day weekend. I also want to thank Coach Brad, Jaci and Coach Jeff for attending the finals and showing their Breakers support. Finally, thanks to Todd Hatfield for holding down the fort and being a great team manager. As I have said many times, I am honored to be the coach of such a wonderful group of young ladies, and I thank you all for entrusting me to a small part of their soccer careers.
