During this one-day, free soccer camp, the college coaches run sessions with teams, then coach the teams in scrimmages. The chance to interact with coaches at this point in their career is a priceless opportunity for our athletes.

Assistant Men’s Coach Zach Feldman, in his sixth season at Cal State Northridge, remarked about the “small club” feel we are able to maintain with our players and their work ethic.

“I was extremely impressed with the Breakers facility and the quality of the pitch as well as the free camp it provides for all of its players. What a great resource for its players!

The club is a big club with strong teams but the staff still finds a way for the club to feel like a small club with a family feel to it. I love the discipline they instill in the players along with the hard work they demand.”

Assistant Women’s Coach Sarah Barton of Chapman University has noticed big changes the past few years.

“I have been working at the Breakers college prep camp for several years, and I have noticed a remarkable improvement in the quality of players. The coaching staff here has done a great job!

After the coaching sessions, the college coaches sit on a panel and discuss the college going process with our players and their parents.  This discussion is followed by a question and answer period.

When the discussion breaks, the coaches hang around for a meet and greet with Breakers players and parents.

Acting Head Coach Vanessa Valentine from Cal Poly Pomona looks forward to future camps with the Breakers!

“It was a pleasure to work with such a wonderful and talented group of young ladies!
I am looking forward to enjoying a productive relationship with [Soccer Club of] Oceanside and the Breakers.”

Overall, this is a great experience for our players and several coaches often find interest in our players as well!
