Our Oceanside Breaker teams have been busy lately!

B98 Black is going to Aurora, CO!
This July, Coach Frank’s B98 Black team will travel to Aurora, CO., a suburb of Denver, to compete in the prestigious National Premier League Finals.
This is a five day tournament competing against teams from leagues across the nation. According to the NPL, teams play several group games before advancing to knock-out rounds to determine the NPL national champion in every age group.
The team finished the Southern California National Premier League in 1st place after besting Southwest Soccer Club 4 – 0 to finish the season 7-0-0 overall!
Director of Competitive Teams and Breakers Club Vice President, Jose Prieto, marveled at the professional game atmosphere with over 200 people in attendance for the SCNPL Championship game on April 14 in Oceanside, CA. “Everyone knew what was at stake and when the whistle blew to start the game you heard chants and cheers from the sidelines,” he said. “The team seemed very intense and I am sure felt the excitement from the crowd. When the 1st goal came the fans erupted! It was a very fun and exciting day indeed.”
G00 Black moves on to Boise, ID!
Continuing in raking in the wins was Coach Miguel’s G00 Black team who won the Cal South National Cup tournament and are headed to Boise, ID to compete among 14 state associations for the title of Regional Champion!
The girls bested the Del Mar Sharks in Norco, CA to win the title. The game was a nail-biter ending with the Breakers winning in double OT on PKs! The girls scored 3 PKs to 1 for the win!
This was after besting Legends FC South in the semi-final after a 0-0 ties in PKs. The girls scored 4 PKs to their 2 to move on and face the Del Mar Sharks.
After the championship win, Coach Miguel had this to say. “I’m extremely proud of our Oceanside Breakers G00 Black team for winning National Cup for Cal South. They have earned the opportunity to play in the 2016 US Youth Soccer Region IV Championships (Boise, Idaho) and represent not only our club/city but Cal South! This is a tremendous accomplishment and we just wanted to say thank you to everyone for the support and love, we had a great turn out in Norco for both the semifinal and final games.”
CalSouth took notice of the match as well. “Oceanside Breakers Girls Under 15 made the best of their occasion. In a hard-fought match against fellow San Diego County-side Del Mar Carmel Valley Sharks, both teams fought until the very end, taking the match to the decisive penalty kick series. Win or lose, both teams demonstrated that Cal South has the toughest competition, and highest level of play.”
